About
Decapod Systems
Decapod Systems began in 1985 when Jim Botsko, a model railroader
and computer programmer, was transferred to Germany for a
two year assignment. In a foreign country, without his train
layout, Jim turned to his computer for refuge and designed
a program for model railroads. He focused on the most important
aspect of the session: the switchlist. Wouldn't it be great
to be able to plan switchlists that keeps track of where the
cars and trains were at the end of the last session and go
from there? So, that's what he designed. And since he's had
his train layout again, he's used it every session.
